CONSERVATION AID III - Mainly Remote Locations Statewide
APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $27,206.64 to  $39,108.24  PAY GRADE: 23
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Conservation Aids assist professional staff in a variety of projects involving the conservation and preservation of the State's natural resources.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
These positions perform a variety of duties such as: stream and creel surveys; support for Trout in the Classroom and train new teachers; write articles about fishing and hunting; develop regional media announcements for fishing clinics; develop and teach clinics and seminars in a designated area; data collection and entry; fish rearing activities; sportfish restoration; waterfowl capture and banding during pre and post hunting seasons; perform work at various Wildlife Management Areas around the State. Some positions require the applicant be a Lathrop-Capurro Internship recipient. Positions are of a 3-4 month duration, working 4-10 hour days over the summer and camping at remote location sites on the workdays. Some may work at different times of the year depending on the program and the needs of the agency. This recruitment is open at all three levels and positions may be filled at any level. Applicants are encouraged to apply for the level that best matches their education and experience.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school and one year of experience in resource conservation projects or wildlife management projects such as assisting with creel census, surveys, identifying fish and wildlife species, vegetation management or similar work OR an equivalent combination of education and experience; OR six months of experience as a Conservation Aid II in Nevada State service.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
