The Position
Library Technicians/Assistants perform duties in support of the operation of libraries that house and provide access to a variety of materials in a variety of formats. Incumbents perform and/or supervise technical, paraprofessional and administrative duties within one or more functional areas of the library including acquisitions; cataloging; circulation; collection maintenance; document delivery/interlibrary loan; government documents; reference, serials and/or metadata, electronic resources, and digital services.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE PRIOR TO THE ANNOUNCED CLOSING DATE BASED ON VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.
The University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) Wiener-Rogers Law Library at the William S. Boyd School of Law is seeking a Library Assistant 3. This position will serve as the Evening-Weekend Circulation Supervisor and will staff the Law Library circulation desk Monday through Thursday evenings and during the day Sunday. The staff member is responsible for performing circulation duties; processing materials; supervising and assigning tasks to student workers; and reviewing the Library?s inventory. Additionally, the Evening-Weekend Circulation Supervisor communicates with patrons; implements library policies on facility and computer use; and interacts with campus police. During the week the staff member is responsible for closing the Law Library. This position will also assist in updating and distributing consumer information about the Law Library; updating new acquisition lists, and developing, maintaining, and updating the library bulletin board displays. The work schedule is Monday-Thursday: 2pm-11pm; Sunday: 10am-7pm. *Per the Nevada State Legislature, classified employees are subject to six (6) mandatory unpaid furlough days per year. **UNLV is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity educator and employer committed to excellence through diversity.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of work experience, one year of which was working in a library; OR one year of experience as a Library Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
