The Position
Supply Technicians participate in the procurement, receipt, storage, issuing, shipment, property control, inventory, and recordkeeping for a wide variety of assets to include, but not limited to, the following: property, equipment, services, food, forms, parts and supplies. Incumbents work in a warehouse, stockroom or office setting and prepare and process documents for the requisition, purchase, receipt, issuance and transfer of goods; expedite the flow of goods from vendor to user; and maintain control records for a variety of property and equipment.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE PRIOR TO THE ANNOUNCED CLOSING DATE WITHOUT NOTICE BASED ON VOLUME OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Department of Delivery Services is seeking a Supply Technician 1. This position will be responsible for the scheduling and picking up of surplus computer equipment for disposal. The incumbent will evaluate equipment to see if equipment is useable, saleable, or to be disposed. The incumbent will data sanitize all equipment that is going to be disposed of. This position will also be responsible for the following; perform the receipt, inspection, inventory, sale and disposal of all other campus surplus property; supervise student workers on tasks related to the surplus computer equipment; supervise, train, and direct all subordinate staff and student workers in the absence of the Supply Technician 3. --PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Experience working with surplus property to include evaluating materials for reuse or liquidation of surplus materials. Surplus experience should include, working in retail environments, online auctions, and traditional auction setting. Candidate should be familiar with proper disposal of hazardous materials and e-waste recycling. 2) Experience shipping hazardous materials. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8AM-5PM. *Per the Nevada State Legislature, classified employees are subject to six (6) mandatory unpaid furlough days per year. **UNLV is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity educator and employer committed to excellence through diversity.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of stocking, storeroom or warehouse experience which included maintaining inventory records, shipping and receiving materials and equipment, and ordering supplies, equipment and materials; OR one year of experience as a Supply Assistant in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

    Must have previous shipping & receiving experience to include experience in a large warehouse environment interacting with commercial freight carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and LTL Freight Trucking companies.
