The Position
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Clinical Social Worker III's function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action OR function as managers who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of subordinate supervisors; develop policies and procedures; and allocate staff and resources to accomplish goals and objectives according to the needs of the hiring agency.
This position is the first line supervisor for the Children's Clinical Services (CCS) at the East Neighborhood Family Service Center with the Division of Child and Family Services. This position supervises 4 Mental Health Counselors/Clinical Social Workers, may supervise the site Intake Coordinator and or the site Administrative Support. This position may also provide some direct clinical services. CCS provides clinical consultation, crisis assessment and intervention, clinical assessment and diagnosis, family and individual therapy, and case management to children ages 6 to 18 and their families. This position ensures compliance with state and federal laws and funding sources, monitors the quality of mental health services rendered, and develops improvement processes, policies and procedures. This position may do some internal and community trainings on children's mental health issues. The position participates on the outpatient clinical services regional management team and leads collaborative processes with partner agencies.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers, and one year of post-licensure experience in a clinical setting.
Special Notes
Persons employed by a government agency on July 1, 1988 as a social worker, supervisor of social work or administrator of social work who were performing clinical social work duties, and who possess a license to practice as an associate in social work and who meet the experience requirements are eligible to compete in the selection process for this series.
Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.
Special Requirements
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
