The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Management Analysts conduct a variety of studies, research and analysis of management and administrative areas such as budgeting and financial analysis; departmental operations; legislative analysis; management research; and statistical and informational analysis.
This position participates in preparing, monitoring and maintaining the Division's biennial budget. Prepares budget revenue and expenditure projections to align with budget authority. Assists with preparing work programs and developing supporting documentation to maintain adequate budget authority. Maintains the Division's internal control and policies. Performs regular revenue and expenditure reconciliations of federal grant funds. Under general supervision develops, monitors and reviews the Division's contracts. Monitors, reviews and researches bills submitted to the legislative impacting the Division. Provides analytical support on an as needed basis. As a member of the agency, activation of the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) may be necessary in the event of a major emergency or disaster. This may serve to disrupt/alter/revise or totally change all previously established work performance standards, requiring 100% of time until the emergency or disaster is over. During activations, the EOC may be in operation 24/7 for an extended period of time to include holidays and weekends. **Experience in the emergency management field is desired**

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, finance, social sciences, mathematics or related field and one year of professional or paraprofessional experience in the research, development, evaluation or revision of programs, organizations, methods or procedures, or administration of policies and procedures for a program or functional area; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
Special Notes
    Appointment to any level in this series requires successful completion of a written examination.
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires work experience assisting with preparing and monitoring grant funded budgets.
    This position requires work experience completing work programs supported with grant funds.
    This position requires work experience of state contract development and guidelines.
    This position requires work experience with Intermediate level of experience in MS Word and Excel.
