APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $37,563.12 to  $55,206.72  PAY GRADE: 31
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Equipment Mechanics maintain, repair, and modify fleet equipment comprised of a variety of light, medium, and heavy automotive and maintenance equipment, landscape equipment, computerized testing equipment, and diesel-fueled electric power generators. 
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Performs maintenance and repair work on vehicles and non-automotive equipment; operates heavy equipment, farm type equipment, and small power equipment; performs minor carpentry repairs on area buildings, corrals and other structures; performs minor plumbing and electrical repairs; transports equipment; attends various meetings and assists in collection of public use data and hunter and angler harvest data; provides information to the public; and performs occasional wildlife crop management.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Completion of a recognized automotive/equipment repair apprenticeship program; OR completion of the Equipment Mechanic-In-Training program in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances. In addition, federal law required random testing for controlled substances during employment.
    A Class A or B com­mercial driver's license is required at time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
