Facility Supervisors/Managers plan, organize and direct buildings and grounds maintenance, repair, custodial work, security functions, and fleet maintenance and supervise skilled and semi-skilled staff.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
The position is located at the Nevada Division of State Parks Southern Region Headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada. The incumbent performs and coordinates maintenance duties for 10 State Parks located in Southern and Eastern Nevada.
Incumbents perform a variety of skilled work in the buildings and mechanical trades in order to repair, construct and/or maintain buildings, grounds, equipment and vehicles.
Incumbent works under the general direction of the Regional Manager. The position supervises Maintenance Repair Specialists throughout a large geographical area. Position is responsible for planning, coordinating and completing projects such as, but not limited to: electrical, carpentry, welding and plumbing. Position plans and constructs new facilities, operates heavy equipment, maintains records, submits invoices and maintains certificates, inspects work completed by contractors, and provides information regarding facility needs. This position is the primary support position to the Regional Manager and assists in budget preparation and allocation.
Incumbents may be required to work various hours and shifts including holidays and weekends.
This position requires knowledge of structures, facilities, systems and equipment; national, state and local buildings and fire codes; standard practices, methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the building and mechanical trades. Prepare work orders and specifications. Read and interpret plans and electrical schematics. Plan projects and layout materials, estimate materials and time required to complete projects; operate various testing equipment; Safely perform a variety of skilled work such as, but not limited to: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, welding and HVAC.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of building and facilities maintenance or construction experience which must have included project planning, preparation of cost estimates and budgets, scheduling and project management. Two years of the experience must have included supervision of skilled and semi-skilled workers; OR one year of experience as a Facility Supervisor II in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

For Facility Manager, Supervisor II, and III, completion of Facility Operator Certification for Utility Systems (FOCUS) or a comparable instructional program in facility maintenance may be substituted for one year of non-supervisory experience. |

A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |

A valid Nevada class A commercial driver's license will be required and must be obtained within one year of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.

A Water Distribution Operator I certificate issued by the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection will be required and must be obtained within 18 months of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
