JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur

Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to individuals with developmental delays, developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities or social, emotional and/or behavioral disorders, in an institution or out-patient setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Psychiatric Nurses provide professional nursing care to mentally ill and/or mentally physically ill or disabled individuals, in an outpatient setting. The position supports Rural Services at the Yerington and Fallon Mental Health Clinics. Our agency mission is to work with community partners to improve quality of life. Some of the valuable services we provide includes Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Residential Support, and Consumer Advocacy. This position provides direct psychiatric nursing services to clients, including assessments and therapeutic interventions; organizes and oversees medication clinic and services for Center clients; providing consultation and education to clients, the community, and other service providers. This vacancy is a National Health Services Corp (NHSC) approved site for the loan repayment program.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada and two years of professional nursing experience, one of which included working in a facility or institution with individuals with mental illness or mental retardation; OR one year as a Psychiatric Nurse I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
A bachelor's degree in nursing is equivalent to a diploma or associate's degree in nursing and one year of experience.
Special Requirements
CPR certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
