Agricultural Police Officers are field agents and inspectors (peace officers) of the Department of Agriculture, and as such, enforce all State agricultural laws and regulations.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the inspection, investigation and enforcement duties for the Department of Agriculture, Livestock Inspection for the Northwestern Nevada Region. Performs inspection and enforcement duties regarding the horses in the Bureau of Land Management impounds; takes the lead on livestock or agricultural products investigations concerning health and brand violations, as well as theft investigations; issues warnings or writes citations, seizes or returns rejected loads to state of origin; writes reports and files complaints with criminal justice agencies; assists law enforcement agencies in investigating agricultural and livestock crimes; and supervises brand inspectors to include assigning work, auditing brand inspection books and paperwork, and providing training and evaluation of work.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school and one year of experience working as an Agricultural Enforcement Officer I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Applicants must meet current Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) requirements as established in the Nevada Revised Statutes and Nevada Administrative Code.

Requires a valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility at the time of appointment and for continuing employment.
