The Position
Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Incumbents perform journey level duties and may serve as a lead worker to lower level IT staff as assigned. This is a supervisory level for the Computer Operations function.
This position is located in Carson City, which is situated less than 25 miles from both Reno and Lake Tahoe within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy MMIS unit. The incumbent will act as an advanced journey level application developer for the division?s various applications. This is an exciting time to join our unit, as we are in the process of expanding our role in the development area to meet the growing needs of the diverse group of users. Currently, the unit is considering converting from JBoss Enterprise Application Platform to either Oracle WebLogic/SOA platform or IBM WebSphere Application Server. The environment is concentrated around the use of J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, Eclipse IDE, RHEL and JBoss EAP, XML/XSD, JasperBI and Jaspersoft iReport for development of reports, some Linux (RHEL 5) scripting ,management, and most recently Share Point development. Some of the additional tools we use are SDLC: Collabnet TeamForge, SVN, ScrumWorks, with associated Eclipse IDE Plugins (and VisualStudio). This position is responsible to code software applications and computer programs and commensurate with the documented design. The position requires the ability to work in teams (Scrum Team) and perform the role of either a ScrumMaster or a Development Lead/Member on the given project.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of progressively responsible professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, and/or applications analysis and development; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
    Statewide travel is required.
    Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required.

4) Please list any experience you may have using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and techniques. What role(s) did you perform?
5) Please describe your experience in managing or development of Microsoft Sharepoint and MS VisualStudio with Sharepoint Designer?
