APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $29,440.80 to  $42,553.44  PAY GRADE: 25
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Predatory Animal and Rodent Control Assistants utilize wildlife management and control techniques such as surveying, trapping and/or eradicating predators and nuisance animals in order to protect livestock, game and the economic interests of ranchers, woolgrowers and homeowners.
Positions allocated in the Predatory Animal and Rodent Control (PARC) program utilize wildlife management and control techniques such as surveying, trapping and/or eradicating predators and nuisance animals in order to protect livestock, game and the economic interests of ranchers, woolgrowers and homeowners. Track, locate and identify predators or rodent species in rural and urban areas; respond to requests from livestock producers, wildlife managers, and the public to control predatory animal attacks and nuisance animals in urban areas; identify and implement the most efficient and timely method of control such as hunting, leghold trapping, snaring and use of pesticides. Maintains records related to surveys, travel time, devices and equipment used, predator or rodent species destroyed, capture activities and other events in order to compile information for statistical and narrative reports. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and one year of experience in predatory animal and rodent control including tracking, locating and identifying predators or rodent species; setting traps and lures; applying pesticides; and destroying predators and pest; OR one year of experience as Field Assistant I (PARC) in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
    Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
Additional Position Criteria
    The use of firearms is required in the performance of the duties of this position. Candidates must be registered to carry firearms in the State of Nevada.
