The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

Unemployment Insurance Representatives perform a broad variety of activities related to the timely and accurate processing and payment of unemployment insurance benefit claims.
Unemployment Insurance Representative III's supervise a team of claims examiners in an unemployment insurance operation center OR adjudicate unemployment insurance claims issues concerning eligibility to receive benefits or tax rulings for base period employers.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of experience providing services to claimants by examining and processing claims for unemployment insurance benefits; OR one year of experience as an Unemployment Insurance Representative II in Nevada State service.
Special Notes
Up to one year of experience may be substituted by completion of 30 semester credits in social or behavioral science, business administration or related field for Unemployment Insurance Representative III, IV, and V.

Additionally, this position requires that the incumbent is bilingual in English and Spanish.
