APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $31,862.88 to  $46,416.24  PAY GRADE: 27
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Library Technicians/Assistants perform duties in support of the operation of libraries that house and provide access to a variety of materials in a variety of formats. Incumbents perform and/or supervise technical, paraprofessional and administrative duties within one or more functional areas of the library including acquisitions; cataloging; circulation; collection maintenance; document delivery/interlibrary loan; government documents; reference, serials and/or metadata, electronic resources, and digital services.
UNR Libraries is recruiting for a full-time Library Technician 1 position. The main purpose of this position is to monitor and process library electronic subscription-based resources. The position will maintain user access; troubleshoot access issues when web links to online resources are broken; process new online resources; process physical format materials; report and maintain workflow statistics; and perform other duties as assigned.
Individuals applying for this position must have previous work experience with MS Office, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook. The work schedule is Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. NOTICE: Per Nevada Legislature, State of Nevada Classified employees are currently subject to a mandatory unpaid furlough requirement of six days per fiscal year effective July 1, 2011. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of increasingly responsible experience working in a library; OR one year of experience as a Library Assistant III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Notes
    As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
Additional Position Criteria
    This position requires two years of increasingly responsible experience working in a library.
    This position requires previous work experience with MS Office, to include Excel, Word, and Outlook.
