The Position
Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
This Clinical Social Worker 2 (CSW2) position is located in the Desert Willow Treatment Center, the only Nevada psychiatric inpatient hospital for children and adolescents. The duties of this position are significant for compliance with the Joint Commission, Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance, and Legislative Counsel Bureau regulatory entities. This position works directly with Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Psychiatric Nurses, Psychiatric Caseworkers, and Mental Health Technicians. This position is responsible for providing direct care services to patients; assisting with all admissions; conducting psychosocial and other assessments; providing individual, group, and family therapies; and determining continuing stay requirements in a hospital setting to include completing continuing stay authorization requests for Medicaid funding. As the child and family therapist, the CSW2 is a major contributor in multi-disciplinary Treatment Team meetings. The CSW2 determines service needs and therapeutic interventions, develops and reviews treatment plans and progress with the patient and parent/custodian, and ensures clinical aspects of discharge planning. The provision of these services is critical to patient care as it relates to ensuring comprehensive treatment with the focus on integrating the patient back into the community. Experience with children and adolescents preferred.
