Social Workers are licensed professionals who provide case management services to children, families, vulnerable adults with intellectual, developmental, physical disabilities, serious mental illness, and older adults (collectively referred to as "vulnerable adults") and other individuals within local communities and institutions.
DIVISION OF CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES positions are assigned to provide child welfare services to children and families within local communities. Responsibilities include interviewing children, families and community contacts to develop and implement a case plan that presents intervention strategies to meet the child's needs. Provides ongoing case management services by developing and implementing plans of care; conducting home visits; monitoring services; documenting case activities; investigating reports of abuse and neglect; report preparation and record keeping; providing technical information and educational services.................................................................................................................................................................................................... DIVISION OF WELFARE AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES positions provide case management to participants receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF). Works with participants with domestic violence, drug/alcohol, mental health issues, pregnant and parenting teens, crisis intervention, completes various assessments, develops self sufficiency plans, conducts home visits, refers participants to community services, motivates and facilitates participant towards employment and monitors participant's progress. Case management is defined as the process by which an individual's needs are identified and the social, rehabilitative and medical services are located, coordinated, monitored and designed to meet those needs.
AGING & DISABILITY SERVICES DIVISION positions are either assigned to the Community Based Care Program (CHIP) which offers frail, elderly clients an alternative to institutionalization. Elder Protective Services Program (EPS)which provides services to prevent and remedy the abuse, neglect, exploitation and isolation of persons 60 years or older or to the Homemaker Program which enables chronically ill, disabled and aged persons to remain in their home. Responsibilities include case management, eligibility determination, development and implementation of plans of care, conducting home visits, monitoring services, documenting case activities, investigating reports of abuse, neglect, exploitation and isolation, report preparation, providing technical information and educational services.
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker or Associate in Social Work. |

Licensure or provisional licensure as a Social Worker, Clinical Social Worker, Independent Social Worker, or Associate in Social Work by the State of Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
Working evenings, weekends, and/or holidays is required by the Division of Child and Family Services. |
|
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment. |
|
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting. |
|
The Division of Child and Family Services requires this position to be subject to on-call.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience.
