The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

JOB INFORMATION
Work Type: Permanent, full time vacancies as they may occur
in this geographical location.
Licensed Practical Nurses provide general or psychiatric practical nursing care in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act.
This open recruitment is for the Rawson Neal Psychiatric Hospital, In-patient Hospital and the Southern Nevada Adult Mental Health Services Outpatient Clinics. In order to receive consideration, applicants must indicate their availability to work in this geographical location.
PURSUANT TO NRS 284.4066 ALL POSITIONS IN THIS CLASS MUST FIRST SUBMIT TO A PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING TEST FOR CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Nevada and two years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse, one year of which was providing nursing care to inmates in a correctional setting, individuals with mental illness and/or developmental disabilities, or patients in a hospital or skilled nursing facility (e.g., convalescent or nursing home).
Special Notes
Probationary employees working for the Department of Corrections must successfully complete 40 hours of "pre-service" training provided by the department.
As part of the hiring process, applicants for positions in the Nevada System of Higher Education may be required to demonstrate the ability to perform job-related tasks.
Special Requirements
CPR certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.
Phlebotomy certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
Intravenous (IV) certification is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting is required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
