Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Program Officers administer a program or major component of a program by planning, coordinating and managing services and activities in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and established program performance standards and objectives.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training. Incumbent is responsible for receipt, maintenance, review, audit and tracking of Service Category Contracts and associated Invoices. In addition will establish mechanisms for collecting and reporting statistical information regarding Service Category Contracts. This position supports SOUTHERN NEVADA ADULT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES (SNAMHS) in the Business Office, located at 6161 W. Charleston Blvd in Las Vegas. Our Agency's mission is to help adults with mental illness improve their quality of life. Through a team approach, we provide innovative inpatient and outpatient mental health services for the Southern Nevada community. Some of the valuable services we provide include Psychiatric Emergency Services, Inpatient Services, Mobile Crises, Outpatient Counseling, Service Coordination, Intensive Service Coordination, Medication Clinic, Psychosocial Rehabilitation, Residential Support Programs, Mental Health Court, Senior Outreach, Consumer Advocacy and Programs for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) teams. Inpatient services are provided through the new Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital. Outpatient services are provided through five mental health clinics located throughout the community. We are accredited by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care Organizations. SNAMHS is an exciting place to work with emphasis on utilizing the recovery model, developing innovative programs, increasing consumer and family involvement, educating the public through a variety of activities, and implementing a best practices clinical program.
The position will support the Business Office and is responsible for management of all SNAMHS contracts and contract amendments. This position is located in the agencies centralized purchasing and supply department, and provides oversight of the agency purchasing card program. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards, as well as established laws, regulations and SNAMHS policies. This is a full time position with an anticipated work schedule of Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm. Incumbent will be working an innovative variable schedule with overtime after 40 hours per week. SNAMHS provides an excellent benefits package that includes health, dental and vision insurance, participation in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), yearly accrual of 15 days of annual leave and 15 days of sick leave, paid holidays and no city, county, state or social security tax! Part-time positions accrue pro-rated leave based on hours worked. SNAMHS provides continual on-going training and education to our staff, including paid release time for attending trainings and the availability of on-site CEU's. Some positions may also be eligible for an additional 5% Shift Differential pay. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in public administration or a related field; OR graduation from high school or the equivalent and four years of previous experience either performing or assisting in the planning, coordinating or administering of a program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
    A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Additional Position Criteria
    Contract Management experience.
    Experience using a Personal Computer
    Centralized Purchasing or Supply experience.
    A current State of NV Contract Management Certificate is required.
