APPROXIMATE ANNUAL SALARY -  $51,865.92 to  $77,569.20  PAY GRADE: 38
The salary range indicated in this announcement is based on the Employee/Employer retirement compensation schedule. An employer-only option is available at a reduced salary range. Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position
Project Managers perform professional services in planning, coordinating, directing and managing the activities of construction projects and capital improvement programs; develop design concepts; determine cost estimates and budgets; negotiate reviews and modify contracts, agreements, architectural/engineering plans, specifications, and schedules as appropriate.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The incumbent is responsible for managing assigned capital improvement projects funded by the 2002 Question 1 Bond program, on behalf of the Nevada Division of State Parks. The primary responsibility is construction administration, including: solicitation of bids; processing project addenda; conducting bid openings; contract writing; processing billings, change orders & submittals; and, inspections of projects for compliance with approved plans & specifications. Other responsibilities include: preparation of work programs; participating in the engineering design process; possible CADD drafting; preparation of bid documents, specifications & project estimates; developing consultant Requests for Proposals, consultant selection and consultant contract management. Providing technical assistance for field staff is also necessitated on occasion. This position is funded entirely through the Question 1 Bond program. Funding is expected to last at least through calendar year 2013.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in architecture, engineering, business administration or related field and two years of experience involving the design, planning and coordination of construction projects; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills Required
    A valid driver's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

The exam will consist of a rating of training and experience weighted 100%. It is essential that applications include extensively detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. 4) Describe your experience writing or compiling specifications to include: 1) boiler plates; and 2) general conditions and technical specifications for building or site improvement construction projects.
5) Describe your experience developing cost estimates for construction projects.
6) Describe your experience writing and/or administering consultant and/or construction contracts to include: 1) RFP's; and 2) competitive bidding process.
7) Describe your experience with: 1) boundary and topographic surveying; 2) layout and staking; and 3) conversion of GPS data to CADD or GIS drawings/maps.
8) Experience with interpretation of UBS, IBC, and ADAAG.
9) Do you possess licensure as an Architect, Land Architect, Professional Engineer, Surveyor, Contractor license, Inspector Certification. If so, please please describe which of the above you possess.
