Education Programs Directors, Supervisors, and Professionals assist and foster the growth of early childhood, pre-K, K-12, postsecondary, adult, and related education programs throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance, training, and oversight.
The Education Program Professional assists school districts and public schools by providing leadership on a state and national level in implementing the GEAR UP program throughout Nevada by providing technical assistance and training. Under the Direction of the Director of Office of Educational Opportunity, this position provides leadership and coordination for the statewide college readiness program to academically prepare and motivate more low-income and disadvantaged youth to go to college. As part of this oversight, the position provides professional development and technical assistant to district leaders with respect to the administration of the federal grant, family engagement, and financial literacy component of GEAR UP. Responsibilities of the position include: coordinating the GEAR UP scholarship program in alignment with GEAR UP scholarship policies; coordinate partner development with the Nevada System of Higher Education, school districts, and financial education partners; preparing annual performance reports on Grant progress; and collaborating with Department staff. *THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANYTIME DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.*

An earned Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and one year of professional experience in an educational program area; OR Master's degree from an accredited college or university in business, economics, education, English, math, nutrition, psychology, science, sociology, statistics, or related field and two years of professional experience in an educational program area. |
