Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
The Division of Welfare and Supportive Services is currently recruiting for an Administrative Assistant II in our Publication unit in the Owens District Office. This position will provide
administrative and/or program support duties such as assisting programs and providing resources to clientele.
The incumbent, under limited supervision and requiring the constant exercise of independent judgment, is responsible for functions including but not limited to: preparation, organization, coordination, and prioritizing of Division publications and forms; completing print orders, ordering supplies; and distribution and delivery of unit products. This position assists with consumer/reception duties; data entry; office management; answering telephones, relaying information; distributing supplies; receiving, sorting, and delivering mail; composing and editing correspondence; ordering and stocking supplies; timely reporting; budget monitoring; operating office equipment such as copiers, personal computers, computer terminals, calculators, facsimile machines, printers, and other equipment; and performing related duties as assigned. This position prefers the candidate to have use of general office equipment and intermediate skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. The incumbent will also use multiple databases to input and research data and may provide administrative support for the office manager.

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of clerical and administrative support experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintaining records and files; preparing a variety of materials using a personal computer or word processor; assisting customers in completing forms and applications; and/or performing secretarial duties in support of professional staff; OR one year of experience as an Administrative Assistant I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
