The Position
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Under general supervision will have the skills and experience to perform routine repairs and maintenance of commercial boilers and chillers/HVAC mechanical systems, environmental control troubleshooting, diagnostic and repair, chemical treatment of closed and open loop water systems including the troubleshooting and repair of related controls, knowledge of rotating equipment, troubleshooting and repair pumps and values. This is the journey level in the series.

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Completion of a recognized heat plant apprenticeship program; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Requirements
A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for these items.
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
A valid driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continued employment.

The exam will consist of an application evaluation. It is essential that applications include detailed information with time frames regarding education and experience. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by the hiring agency for interview. The hiring agency may require specific skills related testing as part of the interviewing process.
