The Position
Positions allocated to this series perform complex mathematical and statistical analysis on public health databases by applying statistical theories and principles to determine cause and effect relationships.
This opening is for a Biostatistician 2 within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Dental unit, in Carson City NV. This position will be retained in the Oral Health Program at Nevada Medicaid and is responsible for providing routine and special reports, collecting data, analyzing it to draw conclusions or make predictions. Develop and execute research studies in collaboration with completing data linkages, and statistical methods to complete analyses on related health data and related assigned data. Design studies and collaborate in writing articles to disseminate research findings. Applies mathematics and statistical methods to answer questions and help make data-driven decisions through mathematical analysis. This position requires the demonstrated use of statistical methods and programs. This is a grant funded position with funding set to expire on August 31, 2026.

To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
    Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in statistics, mathematics or closely related field and one year of professional experience conducting statistical analysis including gathering and analyzing data from various sources using computer software; OR one year of experience as a Biostatistician I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Special Requirements
    A State of Nevada/FBI background check will be required of the selected applicant.
