Cartographic/Graphics Technician's produce maps which are geographic representations facilitating a special understanding of objects, concepts, conditions, processes or events in the world; provide illustrations for publications, presentations and grant applications/reports; and create manual covers, forms, charts, graphs and materials.
Incumbents function as first-line supervisors who train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; assign and review work; and initiate disciplinary action.
We are looking for a lead graphic artist to oversee NDOT's multi-person graphic design and multi-media operations and staff, including: Ensure quality graphic/digital design within given project timeline and NDOT style guidelines. Produce a wide variety of print and digital products, media files, publications, digital, and other multi-media content including, but not limited to logo, flyer and report design, event and other signage, display, and digital graphics and more. Ensure proper handling, use, and storing of all graphics equipment and materials. Experience producing bilingual and social media content is preferred, along with expertise in Mac-based graphics design.

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in computer graphics, multimedia, geography, geology, or closely related field and four years of cartography and graphic arts experience which included writing specifications for printing and reproduction; OR graduation from high school or equivalent education and five years of experience as described above; OR one year of experience as a Cartographic/Graphics Technician III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above. |
